Translation Coordination Unit

Who we are:
Our team of translators, terminologists and legal revisers was formed in 2000 in order to ensure the Romanian translation and the linguistic and legal revision of the European Union acquis adopted up to Romania’s accession to the EU, the Romanian translation of the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as translation of Romanian legal texts into other official languages of the EU, through terminological harmonisation and coordination of the translations carried out at national level.
We have the longest-standing expertise in translating legal texts at national level, we use state-of-the-art tools in our activity of terminological research, translation, linguistic and legal revision and we comply with the relevant international standards.
What we do:
  • We translate from English and French into Romanian and then revise the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights;
  • We translate Romanian legal texts into English and French;
  • We research and validate the terminology used in our translations and ensure terminological harmonisation;
  • We issue publications on specialised translation;
  • We contribute to standardising the occupations of terminologist, linguistic reviser and legal reviser and we conduct promotion and awareness-raising activities in this field;
  • We make freely available to the public our translations and the corresponding terminology.
