In the year 2018 the Training programme preparing civil servants for the purpose of taking over the Presidency of the EU Council by Romania will continue.

The programme begins in February this year, the target group being the persons that could not participate at the courses organised by EIR in the fourth quarter of 2017. The programme includes English courses with an emphasis on negotiation and effective conduct of the discussions within the working groups, as well as courses in the field of European Affairs, such as "The EU institutions", "The legal system of the EU", "EU policies" (economic and foreign affairs), "The EU's decision-making process." The courses take place in the Institute's halls.

In the second part of the programme estimated to take place in February – March 2018 would be included English courses and a series of courses in the field of European affairs. The intended target group would be comprised of civil servants nominated to assume the position of President or Vice-President of the various working groups in EU Council.

In 2018, in order to organise all these courses the EIR collaborates with trainers from the academia again.
